Photograph of Farm House of Anthony Wolf After Whom Wolfs Lane Is Named
Anthony Wolf once owned a farm with a home that stood not far from the
intersection of 3rd Street and Fifth Avenue in the Village of Pelham. A
photograph of the home taken by former Pelham Town Historian William R.
Montgomery on June 18, 1923 appears immediately below. A portion of the
trail along which the home stood eventually became known as Wolfs Lane, a
name by which portions of the roadway still are known.

In 1909, the Wolf home was moved to 210 South 6th Avenue in the Village of
Pelham where it stood for many years. For many years after it was moved,
the home was owned by Pelham resident Henry Stroehle and was known as the
Henry Stroehle House on 6th Avenue.
