01/30/1777
- As a storm cleared, fifteen ships, one brig, two schooners, and two sloops
came to between Hart and City Island. They were from the eastward, and
were supposed to have troops on board.
01/30/1797 - General John Glover, who led the Marblehead Mariners
and others as a Colonel in the Battle of Pelham on October 18, 1776, dies in
Marblehead, Massachusetts.
01/30/1937 - An extension of the
Hutchinson River Parkway up to the Connecticut state line opens.
